Privacy Policy & Terms of Service

This section explains what personal information ReservoirIST (RIST) collects through this website and our desktop applications, and what we do with it.

We collect information in three ways:

• What you give us directly — your name and email when you contact us, request a licence, or submit a support, careers, or student-discount request; and any file you choose to attach (for example, proof of enrollment for the student discount).
• What our payment processor collects — when you buy a licence, billing is handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number; Stripe shares back your email, licence status, and billing history so we can issue and renew your licence.
• Basic usage data — standard web server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) generated by visiting this site. Our desktop applications do not phone home; licence checks happen locally against a signed licence file.

• To create your account, issue your licence, and process payment and renewals.
• To respond to support, consulting, careers, and other inquiries you send us.
• To send licence keys, receipts, and service notices — not marketing email you haven’t asked for.
• To keep the software and site working, secure, and free of abuse.

We share the minimum information needed with the services that run this business:

• Stripe — payment processing and recurring licence billing.
• Resend — sending licence, receipt, and inquiry emails.
• Hosting provider — serving this website.

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone else beyond what’s needed to run the service or as required by law.

You can ask us to correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask what we have on file, by reaching out through the contact page. You can cancel a licence’s renewal at any time from Manage licence, which also stops further billing.

By purchasing a licence or using this site, you’re agreeing to the terms below. If something here doesn’t match how you understood the deal, ask us before you buy.

Each licence is issued per seat and tied to the email address used at checkout. Licences are for your own use or your organization’s use — not for resale or redistribution. Licence files are self-contained and checked locally by the desktop application; they remain valid for the period they were issued for and are reissued automatically on renewal.

• Licences renew automatically — monthly or annually, depending on what you chose at checkout.
• Cancel renewal any time from Manage licence; access continues through the end of the period you already paid for, then does not renew.
• We don’t prorate or refund partial periods except where required by law or at our discretion.

Don’t reverse-engineer the licence verification, share or resell a licence outside your organization, or use the software or this site in a way that’s unlawful or that interferes with other users. We can suspend a licence used in violation of these terms.

The software is provided as-is. We build it against real fieldwork and test data and stand behind its quality, but engineering interpretations always deserve independent engineering judgment — this software is a tool, not a substitute for that judgment. To the extent permitted by law, ReservoirIST is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the software or this site.

We may update this page as the product or business changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date; continued use of the software or site after a change means you accept the update.
